Had enough, tired teacher?
You’ve pushed yourself to new limits. Whether you’re in your first year or twentieth, you’re exhausted.
It’s time to take care of you.
Imagine. You come home from work, wiped. You call for take-out. And then? You relax. Cause right now, it’s all about you. Whether it’s lighting a candle, taking a hot bath, solving a jigsaw puzzle, or enjoying a cozy mystery. Take this time.
Because in this strange world of adulting where you somehow ended up, you’ve got to find that peace. It’s there, honeybun.
Here are some simple but powerful ways to invest in yourself.
Get them now. And mother your future self.

Heatable Slippers
Yes. These exist. These supersoft slippers feel like an angel hugged your feet. They’re also microwavable and contain lavender and other goodies. Who knew a slipper could deliver this way?
Imagine your shoulders relaxing as you slip into a pair of these after a slushy day of recess or shoveling?
Cozy Throw
First, can we talk about this color? If gold transformed into a blanket, it would look like this.
Not only is it full of coziness, but it’s got those danged cute pom-poms.
Crawl in with your favorite book and cup of tea, and you’ll be a new person.
(Get cold easily? Try this stunning electric throw blanket. You won’t believe the color.)
Library Card Mug
If Belle from Beauty and the Beast could pick one mug for her giant library, this would be it.
Fill with hot tea. (Like this incredible blend of Earl Grey that I love.) Then hold it under your nose and breathe. Take a sip. Just like a blanket for your insides.
Pine Candle
This soy candle is a forest in a jar. I used to buy cheap candles. Cause how different could candles be?
Ends up, there’s a big difference. The pine scent will bring you back to your childhood. (And they last!)
Enjoy the primal feeling of gazing at the flickering flame while getting whiffs winter happiness.
Bubble Bath for the Tired Teacher
You want your bath to smell phenomenal and to have massive bubble power. That’s the point right?
Take a look at the reviews for Deep Steep Bubble Bath, and you’ll see that it won’t disappoint.
Bath Bombs
Ever tried a bath bomb? They’re designed for relaxation. Plop it into your filled tub and watch it fizzle and fill your bath with spa-ness.
All vegan, they’re made with Shea Butter so your skin will feel super soft afterwards.
Heatable Plushie
You’re never too old for stuffed animals. Ever buy yourself your own stuffed animal? It’s the best feeling! It feels like the ultimate luxury to your little kid self.
This plush elephant’s filled with lavender. And you can pop it in the microwave to heat it up.
Then? Snugglefest. After a hard day, you deserve a little coddling.
Puzzle
After your take-out, settle in with a fun puzzle. This company’s my favorite and makes gorgeous 500-piece puzzles. The pieces click together beautifully and are a joy to work with.
Pop in your favorite tunes, play a podcast, or Netflix-n-Puzzle.
King-Sized Heating Pad
Or you could go with an extra large heating pad. Cocoon away from the world and recharge. You’ll wake a new woman.
Brush Markers
The mind also loves to relax. And these marker pens are one of my favorite ways to do that. They far surpass the markers we used as kids.
They’re saturated with color and the brush tips? It doesn’t matter if you’re a “good artist” or not. Everything you create, even a straight line, looks amazing.
Coloring Book
Prefer a coloring book to freestyle? This one will have you laughing and learning. Learning cocktail recipes, that is. (Swear to god. Look up the pictures in the reviews. They’re hysterical. Buy one for you and one for your White Elephant swap.)
Ukulele
This might seem a little out of place. But the ukulele has become one of the most popular instruments. Why? Because it’s not only fun and versatile, but easy to learn.
My husband teaches ukulele classes for adults who’ve never played an instrument before. The videos afterward are a hoot because people are having such a blast! (You can see him here teaching how to play Happy Birthday! Ain’t he the cutest?)
I asked him for his recommendations for the best ukulele set under $100 and this was his top choice. (It includes all you need to start learning.)
Watercolors
You know what else is fun and relaxing? Watercoloring. Haven’t tried it lately? Even better. Grab a tiny watercolor pad (you can pop this little beauty in your bag and paint anywhere). Then fill the waterbrush under the tap. Ready!
Try painting shapes or wavy lines. This isn’t about painting well. It’s about fun!
Watching the colors expand, mix, and do their own thing is relaxing and thrilling.
Creative Notebooks
If writing’s your jam, this notebook‘s going to surprise you. Each page has its own style of gridmarks. Writing will feel less like serious work and more like play. Journal. Plan. Draw.
